A poll conducted by motoring website and magazine Auto Trader shows that one in five motor customers were unhappy with their insurance and rated it as poor or very poor.
The motorists were discontented with their car or bike insurances and believed that insurers were only in it for the money.
The magazine polled 4,500 motorists nationwide. Common complaints included claims taking too long to process; pay-outs being too small; claims not being paid at all; and claims being deemed invalid.
A quarter of people polled that had made a claim on their insurance were unhappy with the outcome. Another common opinion among the motorists was that insurers were more concerned about making money than to protect customers.
Tom White, head of financial services development at Auto Trader, said
“Insurance providers must ensure they are offering a good service to maintain customer retention levels,” reports Insurance Daily.
