Bike Insurance - Most dangerous days for Biking revealed - 19/03/2008

 
 
  Motorcyclists have be warned which days they are more likely to have an accident by a bike insurance provider.

Bennetts examined details of claims that had been placed with them and found that the more dangerous dates for bikers was the 14 th of March and the 2 nd of May.

Mark Fells, marketing director at Bennetts, said: “Our annual report shows that bikers need to be even more aware on the 14 th of March and the 2 nd of May.

“ We hope that by releasing details of the most dangerous dates to ride and the vehicles most likely to be involved, all road users will become much more aware of each other and reduce the number of accidents happening on our roads.”

The report revealed that the type of car more often involved in a bike accident in 2007 was the Ford Focus. It had previously been the Vauxhall Corsa. Ford Fiestas were second most likely to collide with a motorcycle and Transit Van's were third.
